The website is really playing up tonight. It's a good thing they are taking it down for maintenance. I didn't see your post earlier until I refreshed a moment ago!
I think they will allow applications to be posted to them, like they do with their 5.55% standard regular saver.

Not all BS's. However, since the Farepak Christmas savings scheme fell through, a few building societies have launched Christmas regular savings accounts paying competitive rates of interest.
There are also a number of other regular savings accounts available paying higher rates. Check out Moneyfacts for more options. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

I know of 38 Building Societies that offer Regular Savers but it's only when the rate gets above 6.50 % or so that people take notice.
The trick is to take up the offer as soon as it is announced.
For example Britannia BS currently has a Regular Saver offering 2.05% (including a 3.00% Bonus) bringing it up to 5.05% but earlier this year they brought out a limited 7.50% edition which was quickly taken up.
Likewise Stroud & Swindon BS don't have a Regular Saver at the moment but did have a 7.00% product that was opened and closed within a few months.
Make a note of the date that the OP (Kazza242) has given (15/01/07) because the offer will be gone come springtime.Old Saying Once bitten twice shy

We will definately be opening up this account. The pure fact that you cannot withdraw it until november is bonus enough, without the high rate!:smileyheaRachel xx0

Without being too nosy, you said WE will be opening an account.
I strongly advise if there are 2 of you you open 2 accounts and split the money accordingly in separate names making sure you put in at least £100 as an initial payment and if you can afford it £150 each. Subsequent payments should be at a level you can afford throughout the year so don't be afraid to commit to just the minimum of £10 each for the next 10 months.
Why this suggestion? Because the rumour mill is that some Building Societies will be taken over next year and you should be liable for 2 windfall payments if the Skipton is one of them.
Also if another Regular Saver offer comes around from another Building Society you won't have over committed yourselves and would be able to take advantage of that as well with a larger overall initial payment spread across the 2 BSs earning you better interest.Old Saying Once bitten twice shy

The Halifax Regular saver pays 7% - has done for several years.
