ORANGE: Hidden Charges

Hi,

I've recently signed up for a new orange contract on one of their new animal plans. These plans look fantastic, free broadband, unlimited text etc...I signed up for a £35 a month plan including the above...Just got my bill, £56!!! Errrr, what's going on there, I expected a bit extra but not that much.

They now won't send you an itemised bill unless you pay £1.50, so who knows what they charge you, this used to be free...Unlimited texts, well yeah that's true, i've been with orange for five years and always had delivery reports that were never charged, now they are!! I could go on, just be careful anyone who signes up...hidden this, hidden that.

You can view an itemised bill if you log on at the Orange web site. I signed up for Racoon £25 in August. I have never managed to get a bill for £25. They keep adding things on without asking me. The last thing was 4MB of data / month.

If you wade through all the fine print in the T&Cs you will find all of these hidden charges. It is a pitty that they have to force their services onto you by stealth. You would have thought that if they were any good and represented value for money, people would sign up to them anyway.

Perhaps Orange know that their service is crap and sell via deception as an alternative to ethical business practice?
  • I think you can check your orange bills online if you go to your orange online account.

    Go to:

    https://services.orange.co.uk/sam/templates/web/sign_in.htm

    to register or sign in.

I have an animal package £30 a month one and I only ever go over a little bit if I make calls or send texts to a few of my friends that live in the south of Ireland.

Presumably you have been charged pro-rata from the start date to your monthly billing date, which will be the same date every month. You can still see a fully itemised bill, if you register to view it online here. Charging for delivery reports is a bummer though!
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:
