been with eon for over 3 years now
recently recieved a bill stating that i owed them £874
i stated i was on a pay as i use prepayment meter and it was wrong
pre payment being the word on the bill
so they said theyd have to install another meter as it may be faulty

they came and did this 2 weeks ago and now im sticking in £45 a week when i was originally only putting in £20/£25 a week
phoned eon and was told the old meter was collecting at the wrong amount
can this possibly be correct when the meter was supposedly read each quarter
if so how can this happen
and does the amount im putting in seem a bit strong
i cant make head nor tail of the figures on new meter
apparently im on eon energy plan with pre payment

help please

im with eon theyve been sending me bills for £870 odd quid on a prepayment meter
i phoned them and asked them why as its a prepayment meter
they said problem with the meter then they came and changed the meter
and ive gone from putting £25 a week in mid winter to putting £45 a week in at this time of year in 3 weeks ive put in £125 and i live in a 3 bedroom house with gas for heating and cooking there is no way i could use this much electric
i keep phoning them and all theytell me is the old meter was undercharging and the new one is correct yet theyve had me on 4 different tarriffs on a prepayment meter and still im on economy 7 and i dont have it
they are absolutely useless and im currently switching to british gas who advised me after meter readings i gave them i should be using no more that £20 a week at this time of year and not the £45 /£50 im currently putting in since the new meter
i asked for a refund from eon and was offered a poultry £5
does anyone know how i can complain as
i am going to issue a complaint with the ombudsmen

I am with E.on! I have to pay £162 a month because they claim I am using that much electricity despite my heating and water being run off my oil!
I called them today to be told that my usage was not high and if I wanted to check the meter is working it would cost me £100+ !
Eon are CRAP! As soon as I get my next statement (which is being calculated at the moment) I am out of there. NPower are currently offering a better deal which would save me over £200 a year even if I was using 1500units a month!
    29th June -Beginning Credit Score 422 :( £2575
    12th July - Credit score 471 :p
22nd August - Credit Score 550 :p Still very poor just but only just!
    Remaining to pay off: £1370.95

    Hi DarnIt

I'm sorry you're unhappy with the service you've received from us so far.

Just to let you know, the charge for checking your meter is fully refundable if the meter is faulty. These payments are only kept where we're called out and there's nothing wrong with the meter.

I have to say, the amount of electricity you're using is much higher than Ofgem's average usage figures for a typical domestic property. Have you spoken to our Consumption Team? They specialise in this type of issue and can advise in much more depth than a call centre.

Hope this is useful DarnIt. Let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.
