Free Listings on eBay?

I know eBay have just had a free listings weekend but does anyone know if another is planned soon?

Keep watching the announcement or this forum, we usually only get two or three days notice of a free weekend.

Sadly they'll probably be one this weekend. I wish they would stop them for a while it just clogs the place up with carp.

I'm a little bit offended at that.
I'm trying my hardest to sort my debts and have started selling stuff on eBay to help pay of overdraft and credit card and I am a bit new to selling too. I am grateful for the free listings because its very helpful to me and I am sure many others who manage to sell things for a reasonable price and not have the added expense of the listing fee as well as the final selling fee.

Isn't one mans "carp" another mans treasure?

I'm sure Oliver didnt mean to offend you, but try to see it from a business sellers point of view. We don't qualify for free listings and pay Ebay a lot of money every month, but due to the free listing weekends, there is so much stuff on Ebay, it could affect our sales.

I don't think any business sellers mind the free listing weekends, it's just the fact that they are every other weekend at the moment.

Oddly I find that my personal sales actually increase over the free listing weekend and the following week which is really strange as like everyone else I would expect them to decrease due to the amount of other listings for clothes etc on there.

i like and dislike free listing weekends, it means i can have a good shufty through my junk and most of it isn't the normal type everyday junk i.e not clothes and stuff and not have to worry about an insertion fee but i know what the above poster means, it does get clogged up quite a bit and this time i've hardly sold anything (back to the my other forums selling boards!).

if you youre just getting rid of your old carp ( ) that you dont care about anymore then 99p and under listings are free any time and it doesnt cost that much more on a normal day if you want to put your prices a bit higher for nicer things.

There is always the possibility that it there is every chance you would have a larger exposure and therefore sell at a higher price if you list in a non free listing day. Plus of course 99p listings are free for private sellers and if they are popular items a 99p start could generate a good auction and also a healthy selling price.

I use free listings to sell my dearer stuff, the last free weekend despite loads of watchers I sold just 1 item that I'd listed, the one before virtually everything sold & for good prices just a couple of things for the £9.99 start most had several bidders & went for more than I'd expected.

I feel I must apologise. I was have a downer day yesterday and the slightest things were enough to upset me. One of those days were the debt has me mega upset.

I do understand. I mainly use the free listing weekends to list my higher priced things i.e. anything with a start price of over 99p. Other than that, I put the majority of my things on for 99p on a Thursday and run for 10 days
