So if you can wait 4 months to go BR then close the account once the OD is paid off that should remove any financial association between you.
Do make sure your OH pays the debt off though so you aren't preferring a creditor.
the money will come from her bank accout to pay it off, at least i know what to do with the joint account now.
Thats the only debt we have together everything else is in my name.0 -
DOUBLE CHECK both or your credit files once the joint account has been closed.....i've known banks not to update records meaning you'll still have a financial link to your OH even though you no longer have the accountWe all die. 2 What is the differance between chapter 7 & 13 and do i decide which one? Mean nothing in the UK, they are US bankruptcies.
Dojo clarifies this as above. The chapters are in relation to USA bankruptcies and nothing to do with the UK.When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Blame Google, it's very easy to be directed to a US site without realising it.
I'm no computer whizz, but adding 'UK' to a search cuts out a lot of the American stuff.0 -
I just click the "UK results" link on the left hand side. But I find US sites easy to recognise anyway as they always spell certain words wrong! When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
