Best International postal service which qualifies for Paypal Seller Protection

I sold a small item on ebay for £800 and need to send it to Germany. Which postal service will meet the requirements for Paypal seller protection.
As far as I can understand to get protection over £150 the postal service must be tracked and signed for.
Royal Mail "International Signed For" is obviously 'signed for' but not tracked all the way. Royal Mail "Airsure" is tracked all the way but not signed for. I am a bit stumped. Anyone had the same problem? Thanks in advance.

You'll have to use a courier, there is a thread specifically about that with a lot of info, if it helps

Thanks for replying. The options sound like a pain in the neck (and expensive) but I will probably use DHL as I have a staples near by. Why oh why don't the Royal Mail do a tracked & signed for service. What sense does one or the other make?0

Try transglobalexpress. You need full tracking with signature all viewable online, you must send within 7 days of payment and it must be an eligible item.0 -

Looks like you should have done your research before selling, as the buyer will not take it well if you have to cancel because your have changed your mind about selling to their country.0 -

Ah, you didn't add that in your OP.
ISF and AS are only £500 from memory and wouldn't help with a PP dispute.
I don't know of a courier that will transport jewellery internationally. That's not to say there isn't one though. Have you googled?0 -

I did my research before selling. It was a UK only auction offering a UK postage option only. A foreign bidder messaged me to ask would I open the auction to international bidders and I said no.
Then 5 seconds from the auction end a German somehow manages to bid and wins the item. I presume foreign bidders just bid on the chance you will just give them a postage option after the auction finishes. I assume they are not physically not blocked from bidding because this guy managed to bid.
If I knew foreigners can still bid anyway I would have opened the auction up to international bidders to get a higher price.
However, the lesson is sending high value small items overseas in a way which meets the criteria for paypal seller protection is nigh on impossible so better to make the auction UK only but it might be an idea to state in hugh letters 'UK bidders only' because some foreigners seem to bid anyway.
