I work there, I haven't been there for a shockingly long time but it's been a while. I'm worried now, though I haven't heard anything from management yet..

this is really sad news for the the staff and families concerned.
I have just started using TJHughes for clothing and am really impressed as everything fits perfect.
I wonder how many of the stores moved into old Woolies buildings like my local one.

I ordered and paid for a leather bed settee for my son through a Visa Debit card. I have found out that it is at a carriers in Manchester waiting to be despatched. When I rang them the person I spoke with said that all TJ Hughes goods were not leaving the depot for delivery as they had just heard yesterday morning that they had gone to administration. So nothing was being delivered. It was ordered for my son who has just come out of hospital and has a new flat near me. So he was waiting until it was delivered befor he moved in.

The bed settee is paid for - what are my rights and what can I do now.

    Debit card!!!????

That very much limits your rights, I'm afraid.

Should have used a CREDIT card for ALL online purchases.

Contact the bank (Connected to the Debit Card ) and ask them.

Since YOU have paid for delivery,(I assume) I am not sure the carriers have the right to hold onto YOUR goods.

Perhaps offer the hauliers payment for delivery of the item or contact Trading Standards - IMMEDIATELY.

You will be able to do a chargeback with a Visa Debit to get your money back.

I think you have 180 days to put in a claim, so you could wait a few days to see what the situation is with goods paid for and waiting delivery.

    Went into administration this morning!

Discount store TJ Hughes now in the hands of administrators
A number of potential buyers are thought to be circling the 99-year old Liverpool-based company
