You usually pay it when you collect the car but some dealers ask for a deposit when you order it. It might be that the deposits are usually only asked for on cars with a high advanced payment. Ours was £3,070 and the deposit was £1k.

Q. When do I have to pay the Advance Payment?
A. If your car has an Advance Payment it will need to be paid in full to your dealer either before or on the day you collect your new car. In some circumstances, according to individual dealership policies, your dealer may ask for a deposit to be paid when you are ordering your new car. Any deposit paid will be deducted from the Advance Payment you need to pay when collecting your car. If you wish to pay by personal cheque, this should be given to your dealer at least seven days in advance of collecting your car, to allow time for funds to clear.
Q. What if the Advance Payment changes after I’ve ordered my car?
A. The Advance Payments are calculated every quarter. This means the Advance Payment on a car can change throughout the year. We operate a price guarantee, which means the Advance Payment of the car on the date you order it won't change, even if it changes while you are waiting for the delivery of your carDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. The end of the second quarters prices is on this Friday, new advanced payments for the third quarter start then.
We had a friendly dealer two years ago who had advanced knowledge of the 'new' payments some days before the changeover and would advise accordingly.
I don't know if this still happens or if you can find a cooperative dealer, but some of the payments on the larger cars ( and the models which are due to be face lifted) can vary enormously.
All the best and do it this week if you can.0 -

The DLA / DWP Certificate of Entitlement [ DLA 404 Form ] which has a registered and referable serial number will be all the dealer needs.

Hi Guys,
Just an idea.
I've downloaded the 2nd quarter price list from the Toyota and Ford sites, so that I can compare them to the 3rd quarter prices that will be released tomorrow.
Depending on which car make you are interested in, maybe you could do the same...
I don't know much about cars or which models will be aving face-lifts, but i'm interested to know how the prices will change. Also, my insurance on our current car (non-mobility) is due and the renewal is a whopping £700.
Cheers
