  • When you go round to a friends for a Christmas drink and then spend 15 minutes telling them how much you saved on your Christmas presents this year!
  • When you find yourself looking twice at an empty deodorant spray lid just before you bin it and wondering what you can use it for. Then leaving it on the window sill for a week just in case something comes to mind.
(Nothing did - I binned it!)

When you go out and everyone looks at you with baited breath for you to get your discount coupon out!
  • when you leave your christmas food shopping til 2pm on christmas eve as that will be the most likely time to get the bargains

hence i have no idea what i'm having for Christmas dinner but it will have to be reduced to clear

edit: when this is the 31st thread you have subscribed to (get nearly as many emails from MSE as from spam email)

I've got dozens of them :o . I've filled a pretty round biscuit tin with them and stand my lipsticks, moisturisers etc. (I have lots of etc. ;) ) in them on my chest of drawers. I've got a couple in my desk drawer with small change in.

I also have every empty loose powder container and pressed powder compact that I've ever owned :o . The loose powder ones are great for odds and ends - I even used a screw-lid one for carrying a few biscuits in my handbag to save buying if I get peckish when I'm out. The compacts I am still looking for a use for, but can't bear to throw away a good mirror  .
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • When you only ever have a meal out with OH when it's a mystery shopping job.
  • New I was a sad MSE when today I went to the shop and found 5p on the floor and got excited then on the walk back home (refused to take the car cause it was a waste of petrol) I found a Santa hat some drunk had dropped so took it home and washed it for daughter cause she needed a new one after the dog had chewed hers! To top the lot was on the pigsback link and found a link to 50ppts that I'd missed - fab day all round!!

    .

I use them to store earrings in - and arrange these in an old cutlery tray in my drawer.

OK - how about when you know you're not a proper fully fledged MSE??? My moment was when I bought a packet of sunflower seeds as well as ordinary wild bird food - because it's Christmas...... :o
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
