I've very recently cancelled my AOL account with no problems. (Well that's not strictly true as I called their line at 8.40pm and the department was closed - it should have closed at 9pm.)

Anyway, if you can't get the cancellation department, try pressing the option for 'billing' - an AOL rep told me to try that if I couldn't get cancellations.

You can also cancel online, but it will take up to 24 hours for it to be actioned. Personally I preferred to get it done via the phone, that way I knew it had been dealt with.

Why are you cancelling - I know AOL isn't the favourite with computer nerds (polite - not derogetory name) but they've been good to us when things went wrong with our pc.

Spent ages on about 1/2 dozen FREE calls to them, to get it sorted.

& when we suggested switching to onetel, they gave a free month, to compare back to back.

We've stayed with them, but also use onetel for email, but think this will go soon. It's verrrrrrrrrrrry slow, since they changed servers.

Keyword...Cancel. Usually the easiest way by e-mail. They will send confirmation.

Call 0800 376 4407, they will cancel your account immediately. They usually offer you a free month to stay on!
