  • I do not drive, so no car sharing available.

My Partners phone is in my name, if we split all I could do would be to lower the contact down to practically nothing, He wouldnt give me the phone back, I know that.

In which case report him for theft.

If he thinks you are a walk over, he will just carry on abusing you.

Take the bl&&&&dy phone off him. If he tries to leave, report it stolen and get it cancelled. Why not speak to the provider now.

Why have you put your partnrs phone on, yes I know its in your name but surely he is paying for it.

Your water costs are horrendous, yu need to get a meter, if your in a flat, ask for an assessed charge.
Im in a 3 bed semi and only pay 22/23 pounds a month.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Everyones water is that around here!

Me and my partner manage financially at the moment.

I would obviously try and cancel the contact if we split or at least lower it down. He wouldnt be bothered about the contract, he would probably keep the phone and get another sim card

I have 2 contracts because one is my partners phone. but it is in my name. The contracts expire in 18 months time

Contact the mobile phone company and ask them how much to buy yourself out, then simply pick up his phone, sell it and get yourself straight.

I get what you're saying about the 2 bedroom place, but the 300 you are being paid is only making up the difference in rent! What about the electric, gas, water, TV licence, internet your lodger uses??

You can't afford to be proud, believe me I've been there having moved from my own 2 bed semi in a lovely estate to a 1 bed council flat in a run down area of Liverpool. I think you need a bit of a reality check as things just won't be the same as they were when you were with your partner.

Some areas are like this where one company is responsible for water supply and another for sewerage - however the overall amount you pay is high - are you on a meter or unmeasured? if not on a meter consider going on one. If you are on a meter do a leak check to ensure water isn't leaking and try to reduce your water usage. Lots of tips on the waterboard website on how to minimise the water you use.

I know its hard at the moment when you are only thinking you may split with partner - but if the worse happens then you need to think about things like swiping the phone as its legally yours and you are going to need the money its worth - you could agree to sell the phone to him of course in return for cash to pay off some of the arrears.

  • 2 phone contracts at £50 each is a lot. Can you shift one onto a friend?

That's not right. You must be paying two water companies for the same supply, surely?? I have a 2 bed flat and pay £32 a month.

If the phones have 18 months left on the contracts, have you literally only just got them? Even though his phone is in your name, can't you move the direct debit to come from his bank account instead??

  • I just checked and water meters are not available around here until 2015!
I dont over use water, washing up and a daily shower, thats it. Normally a quick shower too as I dont get in until 8ish so like to get cleaned up quickly.

swiping the phone is an option. lol. But ultimately It was a present from me.

I dont want to split, but as said in my previous post, we want different things.
