Sky have said this:

Free phone
Free landline installation (i do not have a land line)
Free activation of the land line
Free installation
Sky variety channels
Sky plus box
Sky 20mbsp Broadband (unlimited downloads)
Sky phone on weekends and evenings unlimited
No one off costs
12 month contract

£19.50 per month

Sounds too good to be true, i don't trust them at all, do you think they can really do all that for free? Or is the Sky rep talking a load of cobblers?
Owed out = lots.

Well, since the basic Sky TV package alone (no phone, no broadband) is £19.50, what do you think? No mention of line rental in that list of course. That will add more than 50%.
The 'free' broadband is normally capped at 2GB per month, which is effectively useless.
Are you sure it's not £19.50 for the first 3 months, then the price goes up?
PS: they're not Sky reps, they're freelance marketing agents who work on commission only and will tell you anything you want to hear in order to get your signature. When you find out what you've really agreed to, they'll be long gone.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Mac's correct, they are don't work for Sky,they work for a company called Topaz Marketing & get paid 100% on commission,so it's in their interests to get you to sign the dotted line. (they get £40 a sale)

I went for a job with that lot some time ago & went out with a 'Field Manager' who admitted they didn't know a great deal about what they are selling. You sign a generic contract that get's sent off to Sky,it's not uncommon for the details to change between signing & activation.

Going by what he was offering, the landline install ect seems too good to be true..Take it all with a big skip full of salt.

Whilst true for the large majority of broadband users don't forget the OP doesn't have broadband so it is possible they wouldn't use that much to start with?

Never sign up with anyone who knocks on your door... go to SKY.com and price it up.

We have the free broadband and my lads run their 2 computers off it use x box live and watch sky sports on their laptops at the same time and what ever else they do with them, it's definitely not useless  it's a bargain.

Never ever sign up at the door, even if the offer is genuine. Any commission going you can keep for yourself via a cashback site, rather than gift it to a doorstepper.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Not on 2GB a month they don't...could be that Sky are failing to bill you for the excess.

Just checked my sky on line bill next to internet it says £0 my lad watches the cricket while playing on his xbox.

I do have the telephone line rental charge of £12.25 and a £5 call package. Could that be why we get it then because he's definitely doing both at the same time :D
