Iron burn on carpet!

I was about to say the same thing. Exactly the same thing happened to us years ago. The insurance company sent round an assessor, he took one look and said there was no way to make a half-decent repair, new carpet, no questions.
Of course, it does cost you in terms of excess etc., but it's difficult to repair it really. The best approach if you don't want to fork out for a new carpet or claim on the insurance is the "careful snipping and sandpaper" techniques mentioned earlier. Better than nothing, but it'll never look perfect.0 -
How deep is the burn? This happened to me in a rented flat and what I did was shave the top of the carpet off with a gilette venus razor and then fluffed it up with a fork. No idea how I came up with this method. Anyway, it worked and I didn't lose a penny of my deposit0

The iron would have phsically defaced the carpet and altered it completely. You could use whjatever carpet cleaner you like, but carpet cleaners are not known for their repairing abilities. The clue is in the title.
You will need a new carpet.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
