I stupidly dropped my hot iron on carpet, its left a scorch type burn, any chance this can be removed or does it mean a new carpet. Any sensible suggestions for removing it welcome! Thanks

Sorry should have said its a cream carpet and burn is near the door.0

My mum did this once. My dad suggested that, as the burn mark looked like a petal, that she just made more burn marks in the shape of flowers all over the carpet.0

can you snip the top melted bits off? or very gently try sand paper? You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -

You could put a rug there.

Is it wool, or man-made?
The best suggestion so far, for rectifying it instead of covering it up, is the one about snipping the tops (melted bits), then using sandpaper to rub over to get the last bits of melted fibres out.0 -
Do you have accidental damage on your home contents or buildings insurance?0
