ive just had a blue screen again. irql_equal-less than or something. when it it counting should i let the blue screen complete the count or switch it off?
You need to either use or install a program that is capable of burning ISO images so that you can create a bootable CD to test the memory, IMGBurn can burn ISO's (free): http://www.imgburn.com/
I wouldn't reinstall the operating system until you have tested the RAM. As I mentioned earlier, I had the same BSOD and reinstalling the OS did not help, the issue was with the RAM.0 -
I'm in a similar position to the OP, computer seems to be doing a lot of strange things, including BSOD and running v slow. Like the OP if people say, "uninstall that and back-up, then reinstall the other and download y" I don't really understand. Is this the sort of error that can be be fixed in a shop for a reasonable price? Last time I had issues Closed and others were a great help but it took me probably 15 hours over 10 days to sort the problem...and I don't think I did rectify fully (hence these problems). For my sanity and value of time, if I can get this fixed for a reasonable sum I would rather do that but just wondered how much it might cost and what I should say.
Any help greatly appreciated. And if, you know, your history...0 -
I had this problem for the last month, it would seemingly do it randomly. Last week I noticed that if I ran Utorrent or the webcam on windows live I would get the 'Drivers not less or equal' BSOD. I just went through the delete programs thing in control panel and got rid of everything I don't use anymore and reinstalled Utorrent and it's gone from rebooting 5 or 6 times a day for the best part of a month to a week without doing it. As I deleted all the programs at once I didn't pinpoint the offending software but it's worth a try to do this.
Hope this helps0 -
