the something about drivers may give you a clue as to what caused the bsod, possibly graphics driver, or corrupt registry, try a system restore to the point when it started!!

Try testing your computer's RAM as well. I had the same BSOD messages a few years ago and still had them after re-installing the OS and installing just the bare minimum drivers. I replaced the RAM and never had a BSOD again.
To test the RAM: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso0 -
your not infected, its a driver or hardware problem. I have the same occasional IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen of death.0

Sounds like a ram issue. You should check the ram modules and also run a memtest. http://www.memtest86.com/I'm not normally a religious man, but... if you're up there, save me, Superman!0

This link should work, it's an ISO that you will need to burn to CD and then boot off the CD: http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20/memtest86+-4.20.iso.zip0 -

depends on the make and model of pc, what version of windows, whether you have the installation disk available or a factory restore partition. the manual, the manufacturers website, or google is a good place to start.
as for backup, a usb stick may be ok, but dvd's or external hard disk are safer!!
