Changing your username?

Sorry if this is the wrong spot. I was looking for the most likely place to ask this & landed here.

Can you change your username? If so, how?

Why not just leave it as it is? Nothing much wrong with it surely?

I opened a new account when I encountered some problems due to someone I knew offline upsetting me and MSE not helping.
Username changes are rarely permitted , I can only think of 4 i've seen.
