    Hello OP,
The other thing you might need to budget for, apart from fares to school if relevant, is "running costs" for school age kids:
packed lunches or school dinners, snacks for breaktime, subs for clubs/activities and of course the endless requests from school eg. trip money, mufti day, cake sales etc etc.
I'm a single parent and these are the costs I never remember to include in my budgeting - even though I'm a teacher....
HTH and good luck - it sounds like an exciting future for you all.

Mufti day, TG you must be a local :D

I am stressed to within an inch of my life, dealing with work. fine. dealing with the move. fine. Trying to do them both in a finite amount of time during the busiest period of the year......... = a bit on edge out of character reaction.

Due to CR's and the fact that i am used to a lifestyle i am altering it now so that i won't feel the affects after the move.

Due to circumstances i will obviously loose my 25% discount on council tax, and my partner will loose the free school dinners etc. But i am sure it is workable, currently my water meter is £10 / month GE at about £70 but due for a change.

My bills are minimal. Pay everything a month and i still have £800 / month fun money for take out and have allowed £30 / month for things like scouts and included packed lunches in the monthly food budget

    Brilliant planning OP.
It's lovely that you're thinking ahead like this, especially when you are very busy and stressed.
I hope you'll get through the worst of the stress very soon and be able to enjoy all being together as a family.
    Best of luck!

    Hi Msb

i just hope you that you didn't read my tirade last night.

it was a sentence i read and reacted too, and launched a barrage of what can only be described as vile.

It is unlike me to react that way, i cannot excuse it though because i did.

To add extra to the stress my partner now has to go for a scan in a couple of days because the 'bump' is 10mm smaller than what they would expect, although the dating scan and due dates are wrong anyway but the NHS won't listen to us.

According to the dating scan they have the conception date as 9th december. Due to distance and circumstance we were not together between the 24th november and the 19th december, and again the only time was the 24th december. They set the date and that was gospel..........I do digress slightly.

To me DS1 and DS2 cannot be treated differently, they are already 'established' where they are with mates etc. both are in the scouts and so i have accounted for that, we are yet to get confirmation on local schools which again is worrying, but packed lunch for a while is not going to hurt.

I made the OP to see how much a baby costs, and i know babies differ and the variables and factors involved differ vastly, i was hoping to get some feedback either way i.e "i do it for £10 / month but that is a major strain" to "we spend £100 / month on formula, nappies etc"

    because TBH i ain't got a clue.

    Hello OP,

Just wondering if you are ok - has your partner been for her scan?

Hope everything went well and that the hospital are now taking a bit of notice of your (almost certainly more accurate) dates. It's a massive cause of stress when they start saying that things aren't exactly textbook.

    Keep us posted.

    Best wishes

    Hi MsB

Thanks for thinking about us, just had a mad week last week so i haven't been on-line much.

Scan was fine, it was only a 'precaution' as my partners bump was 10mm smaller than it should be *rolls eyes* , although we had just had a 4D scan the weekend before and all seemed fine.

Bit of a waste of time, but more so nhs resources

    Hello again,
Thanks for the update. Very glad to hear everything was fine with the scan.
Best of luck for the future!
