Konnie Huq's a babe.
Good enough for me.
Indeed.

Although she didn't explain herself (or possibly the artcle didn't cover it) very well, I understand exactly what she means. There is a huge difference between well managed business debt and personal credit card debt.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I know what you mean, if you read between the lines you surely understand what she's getting at? The rental property is, presumably, an investment based around a mortgage but where income covers the debt. When she says that she 'doesn't like debt' in reference to her credit card she's saying that she doesn't want to get in to high interest short term debt for day to day payments.
The main point of interest from the article was the fact that she only earned £30,000 a year from presenting Blue Peter. Is that really all you get for presenting Blue Peter?!0 -
Not quite sure what the point of the thread is? Konnie has wisely invested in property, seeing a return on that investment way in excess of typical share value and come retirement will most likely have several mortgage free properties paid for from rental income. Why the derision?
I had two properties, one we lived in, one was BTL. The profit from the sale of both enabled us to buy a nice 5 bed detached with only a small mortgage. Property has been the best investment we have ever made.0 -
The best investment I ever made was a round of tequila slammers in Ho Chi Min City on a girl called Saigon Sally. Man the things she could teach a man.0

I suspect she's other sources of income.
She married to Charlie Brooker ?."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -
even a half wit would be rather wary about buying a BLT after reading her interview, given that she said (i) she got stitched by her agent and was forced to pay £12,000 in advance commissions (which she only got back when she got a job on watchdog - most BTL investors don't present watchdog...); and (ii) she lost a year's rent when the tenant stopped paying (and she also found that the agent wouldn't help her to evict the tenant).
surely, along with the fact that according to others above her property is in thamesmead of all places, just demonstrates the pitfalls of making this type of investment as an "amateur". her businessplan appears to be to hope that the property will significantly appreciate in value - if it is in thamesmead, then good luck with that...0
