Advising people to buy house (don't do it Konnie!):

DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL PENSION OR A LONG-TERM FINANCIAL STRATEGY?
My extra property is my pension. The rental income covers the mortgage and hopefully the property market will recover soon, such that when I sell I'll have made a tidy profit.
WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BEST INVESTMENT DECISION?
Property. I bought my first property nearly 10 years ago and have bought a couple more since then. I decided it would be my pension investment. All the property I have bought has gone up in value: I think most property does in the long run if you can hang on to it. I'm so glad I managed to get on the property ladder when I did, as it can be difficult, especially in London.

In that time frame very hard to have done otherwise.

I don't think you have sufficient evidence (other than that she bought one of her properties 10 years ago) upon which to base your statement about it being hard to have done otherwise.0 -

Good enough for me.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

yes..She had to evict the squatters and drugs dealers who lived in the penthouse.....she was one unhappy lady then,,It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
If anyone ever said that being a landlord is all plain sailing then they are either:
a) lying, or
b) very lucky0 -
Little random... I came across a very young Konnie Huq on the blockbusters game show when channel hopping the other day.0
