    When you're taking 10% 'commision' they'll do it !

    Also remember they have CCTV as well.

    These cheque encashment places normally ask for 3-5 pieces of ID including photo ID. Difficult to see how people without access to the payee can get sufficient ID.

    So true - I wonder how many people try to do this. As in cash the cheque and then act as if it has been stolen.

    I'm also interested to know how RBS knew the name of the place where the cheque had been cashed. It's unlikely to say the least.

    Because they'll have a copy of the banked cheque.
