Sorry just read your post again - you'd be fine in the smaller version - one currently on ebay starting at 99p. If you look on Ukcampsite you'll see pictures of these. Search for Vango Galileo or Weathermaster - both names have been used for the same tent but be careful - there is a newer american weathermaster which whilst probably a good tent isn't the same thing. This would be fine for anyone tall because its a relatively flat roof so plenty of full height space.Adventure before Dementia!0

£75 with the additional 15% off = £63 and then quidco makes it about £60.... bargain IMHO.
This tent will be excellent if you can guarantee it will never be windy or rainy!0 -
Id suggest OP that when you make the purchase you do a practise run or 2 of putting the tent up to check the poles and for any rips that shouldnt be there.0

Do you own this particular tent then?A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

Thank you all for your replies. I have just resurfaced (again) after caring for my very poorly dad. Now he is on the mend I can start looking at tents again and hope that we can find a slot in the summer when I can take a holiday with my OH and 2 boys.
Even if we buy one, use it and sell it on afterwards it has to be cheaper and easier than trying to find reasonably priced hotels at short notice.
Fingers crossed for healthy parents, dry weather and contented teenage boys. 6 weeks school holidays....... here we come :eek:

i'd definately go for a shape that allows a bedroom at both ends then a living room in the middle and 2 opening sides to allow ventialation.. one of which should have poles for making a portch / roof for cooking under safely or shade.
i was going to recomend ours, a Vango 6 man but they dont make it anymore!
i prefer the tunnel tent shapes, and definately make sure you get a sew in groundsheet in the bedrooms.
doing a dry run of the tent in the garden should keep your boys amused for a few hours... maybe over night too even!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Vango Tigris 600 would probably suit your needs, its has a SIG aswell. I looked at the Icarus 600 but compared with the Tigris the tigris is a better buy. Add the extension and you'll have a good size tent.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

Hi,
We are a family of 5 & have recently bought this tent;
Sorry, wouldn't let me add a link. Look on Ebay for a Gelert Beyond Galaxy Tent. They do a 4 man & 6 man version, we have the 6 man.
It is 6m x 3.5m & has a bedroom with removable divider, a storage area behind the bedroom & then a huge living area. It has a footprint ground sheet too. It is a fantastic, spacious & decent tent that will last & we totally recommend it. It's the best price for this kind of size & qaulity that we could find. I know the picture makes it look small but check out the measurements, it really is huge & our kids look lost in it!
Good luck with your searching. :0)0
