Won't get any stoning from me HQ, I can't stand him, he's pig ignorant in real life anyway. Him and his entourage nearly knocked DD and me flying at the Good Food Show one year and not a single apologyOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Totally Agree!! :T
He's so messy and he has no hygiene at all - all he does is licks his fingers like a filthy slobbering mongrel throughout the entire programmes. Grrrrr :mad:spacey0 -

When I mentioned it at the checkout, the lady said it was always happening, so check out the smaller packs, bigger doesn't always mean cheaper!
Yes this never ceases to amaze me - smaller packs quite often are cheaper - presumably because they assume everyone will buy bigger packs and whack the price up!!0 -

Not true, at least, not as true these days. You say you've known this "for years", so maybe things have changed.
Umm was it not shown on a Channel 4 programme about how BOGOF's are funded by manufacturers only last year.
Don't have a telly but I am sure that I read somewhere about it as everyone was talking about it. As some people had never knew it.
If they are wrong then I stand corrected. But I was under the impression for many years that these funded by the manufactures if not partly but fully.

Oh, absolutely Calley! I can't talk for other food manufacturers, but when I worked for a company selling salad products (eg iceberg, celery, bagged salads) then the supermarket would tell us when they wanted to do a promotion. They would give us the date that it was going to start and tell us what they were going to pay for the product. It was normally half the price of what they paid in the first place. In addition, the extra cost of designing the packaging, applying extra labels (by hand as icebergs and celery sticks are not uniform to fit down a belt!) was borne by the company that I worked for!

This thread's pretty long and I haven't had chance to read it all, so i appologise if this has been posted already.
One thing to look out for with Tesco value is their fabric conditioner. You get a massive bottle of it, and it seams cheaper than others, but if you look at Tesco's regular fabric conditioner, it's cheaper. This is because the regular fabric conditioner is concentrated, and the Value stuff isn't, so you have to use more per wash.
