My garden makeover
Thought I'd post a few pics of my garden makeover.
It has been like a building site for the last year so I was really pleased after I'd laid the turf today. Grass at last
. Still have a large patio to lay behind the raised sleeper beds.
Next year I will hopefully have a small veg plot behind the pergola too. I've never grown veg before so I will have to do a bit of reading up first.

Looks brilliant! - and lowish maintenance, was that part of the plan?
Plus being nosey, those raised beds are fantastic but was the wood very expensive? Roughly how much?0 -
Nice. The sunken lawn is class.
Personal choice, but I'd have stained the pergola a much darker colour.0 -

Agreed.
I can't see the detail but I'm hoping those are Grapevines planted at the bottom of the pergola columns. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Yeah, I'm not a very experienced gardener so wanted something quite low maintenance.
The sleepers were the most expensive thing. I went for oak so they would be long lasting. They were £25 each.
All the block edgings were recycled from and an old patio and I already had the pergola so the sleepers were the only big outlay.0 -

I agree the pergola might look better darker. I was going to paint it the same colour as the fences originally. Hubby wasn't keen and wanted it to match the sheds. Might live with it until next year and then change it0 -

Yeah, they are grapevines. I'm hoping they will cover the pergola eventually. Not sure if they will actually get grapes though as it's quite cold and wet where I live most of the time.0 -
Wow that is lovely - similar size to our garden and you have put such a lot of variety and features in it but still kept it looking 'big' IYSWIM.
I love the pergola - where did you get it? we have been looking for one for the patio area outside the french doors and it looks a good one.0
