Seafood/crab sticks

For health reasons, I must consume 120gm of protein daily for the rest of my life. I was delighted to find that Sainsbury's stock YOUNGS SEAFOOD STICKS (very high in protein) -only 89p per pack of 16, the cheapest I've seen, even cheaper than own brand ones. I think they are the best tasting and eat 1 - 3 packs daily as a snack (more satisfying than chocolate and no guilt!)

When I met my dh (many moons ago) he boasted how he adored crab. In our earlier years, family demands etc., money was tight, but I found a dressed crab on the reduced counter and thought: "I'll treat him; he works hard".
Presented the dressed crab and he was  "What's *that*!?"
(Me) It's your favourite; crab
(him) No, no, no!!! (he was appalled) I didn't mean *that* crab ... I mean the pink and white sticks of crab!
I'll go treat him now0 -
I use those crab/seafood sticks in some mayo, add chopped hard boiled egg and chopped up tomatoes. Nice with some side salad or in a sandwich.0

I love these seafood sticks too, but OP, do you realise how much salt is in them??
There's 2g of salt per 100g, so 5g in a full pack (max recommended for an adult per day is 6g). If you are eating 3 packs a day that's an awful lot of salt, even before you factor in any other food!!
It's only a game

And contrary to public opinion, there is no crab in a crabstickmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I'll never forget when my friend put down some of these for her cat because she'd bought them and then didn't fancy them. The cat ignored them, and when my mate later came downstairs in the night for a drink she spotted them glowing in the dark in the cat's bowl by the patio door. Apparently the fish products used to make them are naturally high in phosphorus, which sometimes causes them to be a bit... illuminating
This is supposed to be harmless, but we've both been wary of them ever since and I certainly wouldn't want to be eating three packets of them a day. I imagine that you'd be glowing like a digital watch come night time after a few months of that kind of intake
