Hun,
While it might have been nice to have a load of people get in touch, just because they go on a forum you do doesn't mean that you would have anything in common. Try and have a think about what kind of things interest you and then look for groups/events/classes based on that - then you know you'll have at least one interest in common with the people there. What about a book club/film group/exercise or dance class/choir/college class/hiking group - you get the idea. Also have you tried Gumtree - I find it really useful for local groups. I know it can be really hard, I moved to a new city about 18months ago and it was really scary at first trying to put myself out there to meet new people (still can be sometimes!). Good luck with it x0 -

i live in Nottingham and find there's loads todo. some of my best friends have been met through classes and stuff. do you ahve the confidence to meet new people? would you try new things? classes like zumba & pole fitness (there's loads of these in Nottingham) are really good and fun. my local gym has loads of fitness classes that although its scary to begin with you get to know people quite quickly. Another thing to do is get your self on Group on then you can try new activities a bit cheaper & see if you like the m& meet new people

are there any social clubs near you? Im a member of a sports and social club (we and my friends class drinking and nattering a sport!!) and its fab! unlike pubs where you get the few regulars, social clubs are members only so its always the same people there. the drinks are cheaper than pubs too!!0
