yes, it looks very much like a reply to the Derbyshire account. But remember the Derbyshire is unlimited withdrawals against the Coventry of only 4 free per year, and interest withdrawal counts as one of these.

So the extra 0.04% or net 0.032% is an extra 32 PENCE in every THOUSAND pounds... unlimited withdrawal wins in my book unless it's for your "stash and forget" nest egg. (I have both accounts for spreading around compensation limits ;) )

But you dont need to lose the interest (which is only 50 days anyway, or less than 1/7th), if youve made 3 withdrawals, and you need more, just close the a/c. 5then go to Derbyshire, or whatever.

The total loss of interest during the transfer process will be far more than any extra cash from the difference in interest rates.

that's immaterial, a couple of BACS or a BACS and a cheque will lose an order of magnitude more money through the transfer process than the difference in interest.

According to emoneyfacts the Coventry poppy on-line saver (3.15% AER) account is being withdrawn on 1/9/2011 (Thursday).

So it is the last chance to get some TLC and open this account before time is called.

Easy come easy go (note for the pedants not instant come instant go)
    I came, I saw, I melted

  • Does anyone know what options you have for monthly interest, e.g. interest paid to a different bank account, or does it pay into the same account?

I am referring to the Poppy Online Saver (2)
