Forget the consolidation it wont work and will make things worse.
Given the fact you live at home and do in theory have a fair bit of cash left I would just get my head down and pay off debts like mad.
Have to agree with Tixy on this, £600 a month may seem daunting and mean you have to tone down your social life but just think by christmas you could of paid £3k off.
The other thing to remember is that the more you pay off, the more an impact the next payment will make as the required minimum drops while you pay the same amount.
I imagine the catalogue will be the highest but you need to check. Then once paid off close it. Trust me there is nothing more liberating than paying for clothes and stuff upfront.0 -
I'm also living at my parent's house at the moment and pay £250 rent, plus I buy all my own groceries, toiletries etc which I see you don't. I also have very high petrol costs (£210 a month - 300ish miles a week) due to this place being very rural and 23 miles away from my work and 16 miles away from "my life". But I'm paying £476 a month towards my debts, so essentially living off £1000 a month for the rest to include the above, and I still manage to save and budget for presents and going out and hair cuts etc. I'm also trying to save to move out on the side, which I shouldn't when on a DMP however it's cutbacks I'm making and not a monthly amount so would be unrealistic to include in my DMP. Recently I've managed to get my weekly shop down to about £13, with a mid-week top up of about £3, so cutbacks can be made - just wanted to prove that it is possible, you just have to be disciplined

Is the best thing to get rid of the biggest interest ones first of the largest amount debts?
And reduce any other expenses.
I don't of course know your family circumstances - however might it be appropriate to ask to stop paying rent, so that that money can go towards your CC bills, and you then after the debt is sorted out put the full 600 or whatever towards rent for a few weeks, until you're say 10% over that?
You get out of debt faster, and your family gets more cash, with the CC companies getting less as they can't charge interest on it.0
