Seems they maybe stopping this tread pattern soon.
I was tempted to get some and store them until needed. I really rate them.
Indeed. Apparently my local tyre network has plenty in stock but they're being phased out for the KU39 which I am assured are as good but I'll be shodding mine with KU31's next week as they're all down to just below 3mm now.0 -
Don't even think about Michelin Energy Savers. I had them and binned them after a couple of months due to incredibly poor grip and lack of feel. They still have loads of tread left but are now far better employed as vegetable growers in my garden.
I bought Uniroyal Rainsport 2 x 4 for around £270 on 205/55/R16. They are very quiet, much quieter than the Michelins and great in the wet.
Personally, I'd rather have safety than economy and we're probably looking at around a £100 a year difference which is nothing really is it ?0 -

A slightly unfair comparison as one is designed for wet weather grip and the other for low resistance.
Though i agree fully that the Energy Savers are lacking in outright grip in the wet, but no worse than the GoodYear NCT tyres we had on the Astras, as they are no longer used front line they fitted Energy savers, the Primacy is a good tyre in the wet and was better than the GoodYear or Continentals that the Zafiras came with new.
Never had the tyres you mention but as i have said before i have had Toyos for a long time with the odd Michelin. Did fit Avon zz3s to the front of the wifes Clio and they grip very well wet or dry and appear to be wearing better than the Continentals it had before.0
