:DMornng,
Woke up at 7.30, but lay in bed for an hour reading my book, love doing that :T, have been pottering around since, got a wash on the go, but its raining here (again) so will hang it indoors, meant to be nice tomorrow though, so might do the rest of it ready to shove out first thing.
OH is off at the boot sale hopefully picking up more things for me to sell, we had another good result on Ebay last night, must get some more things on.
Dinner tonight is pasta bake, with garlic bread and salad, OH's turn to cook.
Need to have a good tidy through this morning, will get the others roped in to help wont take us long between us, also need to nip to the next village to post some ebay parcels.
DD's prom next week too, really excited about that, her and I are also away mon / tues next week, I am taking her on a treat for working so hard in her exams, but wont say what yet incase she reads this.
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -
morning all
sunny and windy here :T good cos ive got lots of washing
spent the day in london yersterday as DD1 wanted to look round brunel uni, she liked it but i think the 5 hours it took to get there put her off. had a nightmare with london transport on the return journey, the overground was hugely delayed and then some of the tubes were stopped due to an 'incident' so ended up getting a taxi to st pancras which cost £15
DD1 has gone to nottingham uni with her dad :T, DD2 is still in bed, ive tidied up , polished , washed up , 2 loads of washing done and fridge cleaned out ready to do some shopping tomorrow
my car broke down on wednesday with DD1 driving , bless her she only passed her test a few weeks ago , the clutch pedal broke  ,its been in the garage since and i am dreading the cost , i think it will have to go on a cc unfortunately as i dont have any savings to speak of at the moment
(((hugs))) to all that need
have a lovely weekend everyone xx0 -

Good Morning everyone, woke up at around 7 and decided that a nice cuppa and a read to finish off my library book was in order. That done by 8.15 (gosh the latest I have stayed in bed for years
) I washed and tidied up the kitchen .I have a square marble slab that I use for rolling pastry out on and I have had it for years and one of the little rubber stopper underneath has been missing for yonks, and I used to put a thin chopping board under it so it didn't wobble .This morning I got cheesed of with the slight wobble so I took a pair of heavy Stilsons and whacked the remaining three off and now no wobble at all it sits flat on the surface of my units Why didn't I think of it before .At least my brain is still working at the moment If it slides about I will get four rubber washers and stick one in each corner with super glue and it will be non slidey on the unit .I'm a genius I think
:):) Now all I have to do is devise a way to have a hook on the door to the cupboard under the stairs which is in my kitchen which won't wobble as the door is hollow I am sure you can buy screws for hollow doors.I only hand a small bag for peelings in it But I am looking around the kitchen seeing what's working properly or not today .Definitely in a DIY mode.:)
Weather is damp and drizzly I hope Gary the Gardener comes to retreive his mower today as its sitting on the patio at the back and I am worried in case some one takes a fancy to it.I can't lift it myself, so I think I'll have to give him a ring to remind him.He comes about once every six weeks to mow the pocket hankerchief lawn that I can't do myself anymore .Nice chap and I know what he gets for doing it helps him out as he has MS and is unable to get work at all.
Last night I made a big vat of veggie soup and used up all the carrots, parsnips, swede half a red onion and a yellow pepper with some lazy garlic and the stock from the ham that I had left over in the fridge I also made some stewed apples and custard from three wrinkly apples in the fruit bowl.Lunch will be veggie soup some ryvita and cream cheese and some apples and custard.I am trying to use up things in the fridge before buying anymore and at the moment am on track for several more NSDs.Probably a little bit of ironing to do this afternoon whilst watching the t.v. I watched Andy Murray last night as he scraped through to the next round I hope he does well this year
Right I'm off to see if my perculator has perked at all I have a funny feeling its on the blink so that will mean a trip to the shops but I have quite a bit on my Nectar card so at least if I buy one in Sainsbobs it will chop a bit off but I'm hoping that I don't have to.I have some delicious coffee from Fortnum & Masons that my DD treated me to so fingers crossed all is well when I go down to the kitchen I can't smell much at the moment so I'm not sure if its working or not all the lights are on and I can't see why it wouldn't work
Take care all

morning!
had a great night out last night with my 2 friends - we had such a good laugh it was a real tonic:D:T we went for an Indian which was yummy and not too expensive.
Planning a quiet day today, taking DS to work later and doing a small shop. Need to stick to my budget this month - lots of expenses.
House tidy, WM is on, overcast here so far but very breezy so will hang it out and cross my fingers!
Have bought some of the Ginko Biloba to try for my reynauds(recommended by someone here but I forget who sorry) plus it apparently is good for memory too:T which I could certainly do with:D but it was a bit expensive although I got it on buy one get one half price from Holland and Barrett.
Sistercas - hope the car repair isn't too expensive!
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
JackieO - I've done a similar repair to my 2 glass chopping boards - some of the rubber bits had come off so I superglued them back on but a couple were missing so I used some buttons as they were the same thickness:T
Plus you've reminded me to use up some fruit thats slightly past its best in a crumble - got a few apples and pears in the fruit bowl and I've got a tub of leftover crumble topping in the freezer so thats pudding sorted:TDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone
Has stopped raining now, but very wet underfoot as it's obviously been raining all night, sun is trying to break through the clouds, roll on the heatwave!
DH up and gone off to his meeting, he's not best impressed as it's taking up a whole day as meeting is miles away and is not until 1.15pm - so not expecting to see him until 5pm'ish - need to decide what we're having for dinner - needs to be something from the freezer.
Got all the beds stripped, washed, dried and re-made yesterday, have a line of washing out at the moment, hopefully it's going to dry today and I'll be able to get it ironed.
Food shop cost me more than I'd hoped yesterday, looking in the trolley I thought I'd spent about £50-£55 at the most, when I got the bill it was £69 - the only meat I'd bought was a pack of bacon, 1 x pack of ham and 1 x chargilled chicken, I had no amount of cleaning items or anything that I could particularly say was expensive - it just goes to prove how much food has gone up over the past few months - definitely will be keeping a close eye on how much I spend. Will be cleaning up the kitchen - cooked us all "heart attack on a plate" this morning, so will then make a start on some baking, need to get organised as there will be nothing for pack ups next week.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

:rotfl:Yippee the perculator is 'perking' so no need for a new one:j hopfully it will keep going until I can drop hints around October for Santa to get me a new one:rotfl:I cannot function without my caffeine shot. DGD Holly just popped in with my DVD that she had borrowed about two years ago of 'Its a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World' I am taking round to DGS tomorrow as they haven't seen it yet and it will appeal to their soppy sense of humour Great film if you've not seen it a bit like a 'wacky races' treasure hunt:rotfl:
Just going to make some cakes for the cake tin then ironing and t.v. this afternoon
Cheers Chums

I finally got up around eleven (best sleep I've had in weeks -- amazing dreams) and finally off to town around 12.30! It was a beautiful winter's day outside and not that cold. I Bought a soldering iron and 2 capacitors to fix my defunct kenwood circuit board. Got the board off with almost no problems, but when it came to remove the big capacator it was stuck fast. I could not get that last bit of solder off. The problem is that the capacitor has two legs, about an inch apart, and there simply wasn't time to melt the solder around the second one before the first one solidified again. It didn't help that Kenwood used way more solder than they needed. I'll be back to the shop tomorrow for advice. There has to be a better way!
This evening I went to see "Green Lantern" which is a fun film with some great ideas (and a cool suit for the hero). Hopefully the sequel they set themselves up for will be miles better.
And now...I'm off to bed. It's half midnight and I have to be up early. Have a great day everyone!0 -
