Setting up a new dormant company & registered addressess!

Options
I'm currently a self-employed virtual PA and could possibly be taking on more clients. The idea is to eventualy take on some PAs to help with the workload and move from self employed to a company, but as I'm not making lots of money, Ive been advised its not worth it.

I do have a t/a name, and Id like to register a dormant company as I want to save the name, in case we do form a company (as I love the name!)

So my question is, is it easy to do this? I've been to companies house, and I think Ive read somewhere that all companies start of dormant, so I dont need to do anything special?

The other question is, can I use a registered address, and if so - where can I obtain one cheaply?

Im 99% certain my lease says I cannot run a business from here, so dont want to get into troube, although possibly already am?

Very new to this and sorry if this all sounds like a jumbled mess, that's how it feels in my head right now.

Appreciate any help and guidance anyon here can offer.

I personally used companies made simple and there services for registered address etc, the annual fee for accounts does have to be paid to companys house though and you do still have to submit them albeit they will be dormant.

Thank you - companies made simple says I could save more (even though I am currently making a pittance) by registering as a ltd company, over being a sole trader.

    Is this true, in reality?

That depends largely on how much money you currently make; its needs to be enough to cover the overheads of having a limited company.

However, as you have already decided to have the limited company whether or not you trade through it, then you will incur the overheads anyway (e.g. annual return, annual accounts, etc)
