EDF online saver 7 cancellation fee.

Allright-

I have heard talk on here about EDF waiving these fees for some customers (admittedly very few probably) that are actually LEAVING EDF and not changing to another tariff with them.

FWIW, i have stayed with them and have jumped to fixed saver 2 and was told they would waive fees so this info is of no benefit to me especially now that SP 2012 tariff ( i mean fiasco) has gone.

However, if people are on the above tariff and are leaving them it may be of interest to them that they may be a chance of not paying cancellation fees.

Now i was fairly lucky and have had access to my online account for a few months now but i understand form reading on here some people have had a terrible time of it.

Is there a legal grey area withs regards to the cancellation fees on the above tariff. The reason i mention this is because i have heard talk of a 'social media' contact at EDF waiving fees after customers had asked for a contact to their legal department?

Now it may just be the way some customers have being treated that they feel they had to waive the tariff but if it's not it would open up the question of why are some people getting off without paying fees and others are not?

PS-if there anyone from EDF watching feel me to contact me and i will gladly share it with the masses that may benefit.:D

I may or may not work for EDF Energy. Or I might work for BGAS.

    but I do know...

No one gets charged for changing TARIFF on the online saver tariffs. It's only if you change SUPPLIER. EDF aren't waiving any termination fees for changing tariff, because they never said they'd charge them in the first place (... for changing tariffs that is).

If you leave the contract before it finishes for ANOTHER SUPPLIER, you will be charged £25.00 per fuel, whether you feel the price increase on that said tariff is justified or not. It's guaranteed to stay at at least 2% discount on the standard tariff prices. It's a legally binding contract which people agree to.

Legal departments have nothing to do with it. There is no loopohle.

Firstly, learn to read you muppet!.

Secondly, there was initially conflicting info from EDF CS about whether they were going to charge to change to another tariff online tariff with them. Depends who you got at EDF.

Thirdly,i knew what the rules were and have no problem with them nor the fact that they have the right to increase prices up to Dec 2012.

Fourthly, i didn't say there was a loophole. I simply asked the question?

Fifthly, do you work for EDF?

    Sixthly, you are a muppet

edit: can't be bothered replying to your dross hiding behind your keyboard.

no termination fees are being waivered for people changing supplier just because they feel hard done by. trust me.

    Sigh!

'Trust me' you say. Well to be honest i'd rather not. Nor i am listening to one word you're saying and i hope other people don't either.

You seem very touchy about this subject? WHY. I have come to my conclusions on that one.

What i would ask is that people ignore your opinions on the matter and if they search under 'social media' and 'edf' they will see what some members are claiming.

What have people got to lose by asking the question of EDF?

I have said my bit. End off.
  • to the OP

your dreaming if you get the fee wavered for changing COMPANY before your contract is up - NO ONE has had that done.

an obvious problem between the keyboard and the chair.

Listen and these are my last words on the matter!

Some people on here claim they have being told that they are getting their cancellations fees dropped for leaving the above tariff.

I know their usernames but am not posting.

I am not dreaming but i can use the search function.

Like i said before i have switched tariff but staying with them so where's the benefit to me?

Personally, if it means more people hassle EDF over this i don't see the problem?

    Jeez-try to help people!!!

I got my OS7 Cancellation fee's removed. I had been contacted by social media through this site after I had complained about the service EDF had provided me. On further discussions with SM and Backfoot (Memeber of MSE) the legal team decided it would be acceptable to switch supplier without penalty.

To which I have now moved to SP 2012 Direct. OP Ill get you the email address of Social Media mate.

    Angry people,:o

I can confirm that EDf have made a policy decision to waive termination fees on OS7 where you change Supplier. This is in response to the recent price rise.
