I think some of you are just being plain rude.
Yes, the bill will have to be paid and negotiations undertaken over the time this can be taken.
But there's no need to be outright nasty! Does it make you feel all powerful behind your keyboard?0 -
don't worry-I've reported them!!Nice to see they are following instructions and "being especially nice to newbies"!
I won't be back-and to the person who is surprised I haven't checked my meter in 10 months I have one thing to say-I have a life!0 -
Wow! Team troll is truly out in force this afternoon.
Yes, the OP probably should have noticed that the payments weren't coming out before now. I'm sure that she has worked this out all by herself. And if she hadn't, the first one of you posting it would probably have done the trick. Now, your point has been made so do you want to knuckle your way back under your bridge again?
On the plus side, seeing that there are people like this in the general public actually makes all the big companies look slightly better...I am an employee of British Gas, however the views expressed on this post are mine and do not necessarily reflect the views of Centrica, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies.0 -

I didn't come here for snide comments but for help. I have a disabled son and am paying off debts and a mortgage from quite a small income, so if you don't want to help, then don't post!
Isn't that all the more reason to read your statements more than once a year?
And if you haven't read the meter at least quarterly, it's possible that your bill is not accurate either, it could be more or less. So before you renegotiate anything I suggest that you get a revised statement based on an up-to-date reading.
Only one post given here could be considered rude, the others have all given good advice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi marthasmom
I'm sorry if we've fallen down and not collected payments for your gas usage.
Going forward, I agree with macman; let us have up to date meter readings and we'll bill your account accurately.
Once done, we can set your monthly payments to cover the usage and spread the outstanding balance over the same period it took for the debt to build up.
Again, sorry your gas Direct Debit wasn't set up as it should've been but hope this helps point you in the right direction. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so.

thats more than fair what eon are offeringDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

To be fair, I also have a very busy life - but find five minutes a month to read both my gas and electric meters. I then upload them onto my suppliers website. This is beneficial to me as it means I am billed correctly, thereby avoiding high bills.0
