I recieved one in November too... got the letter through today. I never saw a sign, so I completely agree with you that there is not enough signs and would be completely willing to state this in court. I'm going to go down the local police station to see if I can back up the claims on here and other forums that we do not need to pay it, as I'm left rather confused.

You don't need to go to the police to get that reassurance. Please believe the good folks on here that you do not have to pay anything. The best plan is to just ignore the parking company. There is nothing to be "confused" about.

After all a plod is going to know more than the 20000+ posts on here that have been shown to be correct, time after time.

Why do people believe that the reception desk jockey at the local police station is a legal expert [!!!!!!, they usually aren't even police officers""]!!!!!

That's the best outcome. Worse, you will get incorrect advice from someone who thinks they know the law, but actually doesn't. And, like the incorrect advice that the CAB tends to give out, they'll recommend paying, because they don't understand the difference between these and "proper" tickets from the police or council.
