I don't know about any one else, but I only plan to do my kitchen once, I should hope it doesn't wear out, and I doubt I'll get bored of it! My parents wouldn't ever redo theirs either, if they stayed there. :) And it was corian, not granite...not my cup of tea but lovely to clean and very hygenic.

The issue that makes it outrageous to me is that its still made out of cheap composite wood that doesn't take rough hanling (I notice as she's got older my moter is rougher on handles etc). I prefer 'real' materials and plan to have wood. I can paint it if I fancy a change of colour, and it will not be a decent fit but rather a perfect one. I'm not going to have corian, but my parents assure me I'll regret other than a seemless worksurface. :)

My parents kitchen would have looked as good with the cheaper identical kitchen and the corian worktop though. If that were the sort of thing I were after I would certainly take really2's advice.

Donkeys years ago I always had at least two jobs. One full-time, one evening one.... and for me I liked doing telephone canvassing because I was quite bl00dy good at it. Call after call after call.... "we've a representative in your area... pop in ..... give you a quote".

Basic + commission on sales. I did all right.

One of my evening jobs at one point was with Moben. It wasn't as lucrative in those days (late 80s) trying to sell new kitchens .... double glazing was what people were after. (Did that too). I probably left Moben for a DG company because the leads/sales weren't as good as I could get in DG.
