  • I am sure I read somewhere that tetrapak also provide funding to local authorities for providing tetrapak recycling facilities.

Regarding being biased they do state on their site that there are limitations in their recycling technology. (I tried getting a link but their site crashes my browser - more excellent flash developers).

Not strictly moneysaving, but does anyone recycle the new style baby formula cartons (ours is Aptamil - plastic rim, cardboard outer, foil inner).

They dont' seem to fall under any of our recycling collections here and haven't seen anywhere suitable at the tip. Hate putting them in the bin, so would like to know if anyone else has found out how to recycle.

    Thanks

Formula milk not through choice Sarah. No 3 decided that he'd had enough of daytime breastfeeding at about 6 months, then a couple of months later wouldn't feed at night either.

I may have to give them to hubby for garden usage - not sure how well they would wash out to be reused inside.

I had read that Aptamil was closest to breastmilk and tbh don't seem to find that brand as commercial as some of the others. LO seems to get on with it fine.

    Thanks

Is it like a tetra pak (like juice cartons)? We have some of our local supermarkets who are now recycling these.

Hi, been googling for you all as our local council collects Tetrapaks at certain sites. This website gives you the facts about Tetrapak recycling
    http://www.tetrapakrecycling.co.uk/locator.asp
Beware tho', there's sound as you click onto the home page! This link (at the top, right hand side of the home page,) should take you to the "Where to recycle." Click onto your area and it's specific enough to tell you which Recycling points accepts them.

Thanks all - we already recycle all our tetrapaks - our local tip has a special box for them. I'm not sure about this one because of the plastic rim.

Will get in touch with the council.
