I have learned so much over the past years and now it looks like I will have to sit down with a blanket over my knees and watch Countdown or some equally soul-destroying rubbish on t.v. just because I'm an old woman:mad::mad::mad:

    Happy birthday MeanMarie!!
    Happy Anniversary Hovel Lady!!
JackieG - was thinking about you this week and going to send a PM to ask when interview as. Fingers crossed for you.
JackieO - I'm so sorry the funding has been pulled. Happened to me way back in the day with Mrs T (shows my age ha ha). Funding for adults courses is terrible these days. I worked in FE until a couple of years ago and know from ex colleagues that courses are no longer running for some things. I didn't teach on these courses but we could have places as long as we didn't take up a fee paying place. Changes since then! Have you thought of finding out about the University of the Third Age? I don't know much about it but did speak to a retired lady I meet at my meditation group and she said she goes to classes run through that. Think they have a wide variety of subjects. Of course that won't finish your module for you but hopefully your tutor will have some ideas.
Sunshine here today hoorah and got some sun on my arms to top up vitD (much needed here!).
Been to the John Lewis sale but didn't see anything I liked in the sale. I have vouchers from last year. I did see a nice skirt and top in linen from East though so i might go back and try it when they are not so busy (not in the sale of course!).
Veggie soup and omelettes for lunch, left over quorn chilli and rice and salad for tea.
Kitchen to be tidied. Ironing to do.
    Have a good day folks

    Happy Anniversary to The Hovels!
JackieO - congrats on your results but bad news on the rest of the course.
JackieG - Hope you're ok, quite an emotional time.

Not been on for a few days and not caught up with the thread yet, will get round to that soon. Went to see Take That in Glasgow yesterday and it was fab. Even Robbie was amazing - never been a great fan of him on his own but he certainly knows how to entertain.
The sun shone (Wednesday's show was held in torrential rain) and it was a great night. Just suffering now as I have been to school and am going to evening job later!

Managing to keep up with the washing, have just put a load on the line as it's quite nice out. You could stir the house with a stick but it will have to wait till tomorrow.

Not a lot else happened, hope everyone is well. Take care XX

    Afternoon all

Hope all is well, haven't read the end of the thread from yesterday.

    JACKIEO that is so frustrating
MR AND MRS HOVEL congratulations on your anniversary
    MEANMARIE Happy Birthday

So glad I've finished work for the week, did an early this morning and was up at 5am doing my on-line tesco order. That's arriving between 8 and 9 pm. DS is going out for dinner tonight with ExOH and his new girlfriend. Funny how he can spend loads of money on wining and dining her. All I can say is she's welcome to him!

No idea what I'm having for tea as I'm too knackered to be bothered, probably something on toast.

Have a good night all and hugs to anyone who needs one.

Just returned from seeing my tutor and she has had her notice of redundancy as well.Seems we are all going to be watching a lot of rubbish t.v. this autumn.Mind you she is hopping mad as well. She is emailing the Uni this afternoon and will speak to someone on Monday re her students who are all awaiting their last year, if push comes to shove she said she will try to persuade the Uni to let her take a 'diploma ' class which she is qualified to do and if they will agree, we will try to find premises .There are around 10 of us who are desperate to finish and she is qualified to teach us so its all down to Uni now and if they will agree or not.Fingers crossed.
We did Oscar Wilde this afternoon and the debate became quite loud at times but great fun.it helps to keep those little grey cells moving which is so important.
Apart from that I have regained my normal cheery self once more and just am hoping for a miracle .have a great weekend everyone ,not too sure what I'm up to depends on the weather at the moment
    cheers chums

    Afternoon all

Skived off work half hour early today :) and gained a pint of milk for free from the works fridge.

Today flew by, didn't get a chance to see my cousin swim sadly. But did finish my NVQ :j. Just got the other qualification one to work on now (it's to be an official assessor of qualifications).

Got home to a surprise parcel. I complained about some faulty nail polish that stained my nails and the company sent me 4 free items and a cheque for £10 to say sorry :D.

WM on at moment, need to remember to put it on airer before I go out for dinner later.

I'm off to London tomorrow til Monday so will be MIA, will try to post before I go tomorrow. Have a good weekend all

    Late one from me today!

    Happy birthday meanmarie! :)

 at all the  bits i saw.

Well work is over and done with till Monday! Was quiet today, but did lots of little jobs to get ahead next week - if it's still dead may take a days holiday on weds.

BIL came round for a bit, he's offered to sort out the spare room, but it's all paperwork, so think i had better do it. Thats sunday's job.
His mum mentioned that we will fet £73 a week for housing him, which is amazing. Will put that in savings account if poss (some will need to go toward the inceased food budget - 2 boys who do manual work = actually buying food for 4 people:eek:)

OH is still at work, has said he's going to sort his own dinner out, so just me to worry about today. Not sure what i shall have, maybe spag bol and garlic bread.

just noticed it's raining and my wahing is out

I have a beer and will do some surveys to earn some more money towards my ugg boots.
