Please can someone say why when I start a thread I cannot then delete it afterwards if I choose to?
Should we have the option to delete our own threads if we choose? 11 votes

Do you mean threads or posts? if you mean posts, you can delete your own posts, if you mean threads, why would you want to delete a thread you had started?0

If you create a thread that quickly goes downhill, or if you make a duplicate by accident, or if you want an answer and get it within minutes etc etc0

The question and reply may be of use to tothers.
If you create a thread and then decide you wish you hadn't just edit the message - delete the text and replace it with 'please delete' or something. I don't think you can post a blank message.0 -

Just to clarify this one, the reason you can't delete a thread is because you don't have any threads.
No one user owns a thread. The OP is just that the original posters, but it doesn't mean the thread is theres. Imagine a user in a fit of pique decides to delete a thread with 100,000s of words of useful MoneySaving, non of which they wrote just because they started it.
