Hi,
I purchased a North Face jacket from Go Outdoors in January.
The jacket was £70 but using a one day voucher offer I got it for £30.
End of May the elastic snapped. I took this back to Go Outdoors, and they have sent it off for repair.
I believe North Face have said it is not economical to repair.
Where do I stand?
Am I entitled to a refund for just the cost I paid?
Am I entitled to a replacement of similar quality? (They don't make this jacket anymore).
Obviously I would prefer them to repair it as only getting a £30 refund for a jacket worth £70 isn't going to be great.
Many thanks
Chris

You can ask for a replacement, yes,....but!, they can say no and refund you your £30.
On the positive side you'll have had a free jacket for 5 months?0 -
So I am not entitled to a replacement of similar quality?
I think I know the answer but thought I would check0 -

Funny enough I paid my first visit to Go Outdoors this week, despite the flash ads, they are expensive.0

Unfortunately not - they'll put you back to the position you were in before buying the jacket, i.e. with an extra £30 in your wallet.
They may offer you some goodwill based on your hassle, but that's purely down to the shop manager.0 -
I have managed to get them to repair the top and post it back to me so all is good.
I used to be a fan of Go Outdoors but now don't think it is that great0 -

They have repaired something for you despite saying it was uneconomical to do so, so they have lost out in not simply refunding you.
Think they've been pretty reasonable myself."We can all fly as high as the dreams we dare to live...........unless we are a chicken" ~ Anon.0
