We're just starting to plan our new kitchen and hubby has said he wants a Howdens kitchen (he's a decorator and did a kitchen a while ago that had a Howdens kitchen and he was impressed with the quality).
Where do you get the prices from Dozergirl?Green and White Barmy Army!0 -

I only made a guess on that kitchen, but unless it's the Haworth kitchen which is a lot more expensive than the other ranges, then with units only, no appliances or worktops, there's no reason for even a large kitchen to cost more than £3000.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sorry! Doozergirl
Are there price lists around or will we need to go to our local Haworth centre?Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Don't forget Howdens are trade only so the price of the units won't include VAT.0

All the prices on their estimates include VAT. They detailthe VAT on each line , it definitely includes it.
Sorry kr15, i didn't see your post. You can get a pricelist from the branch but it's a work of fiction. You'd need to apply your own discounts to it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Now I am even more confused! I hate the fact that I am not able to see exactly how much my kitchen would actually cost.
For me it is doors only but includes worktops sink tap a fridge and a cooker hood.
When I went in to the showroom last week the person who did the quote then showed me the cooker hood told me that the fridge was Beko etc.
Their quote for this was I think £2450 and then the joiner took 10% off
Cost of labour 5 days at £180 per day ie £900 £160 for the plumber est £140 for the Electrican and £450 to remove and tile round the work top and the sink and cooker hood area
I spoke to the Joiner about the 5 days to fit as it seemed excessive and he then said he could do it on an hourly rate of £20 per hr.
My daughter said no to this. I know the Joiner well as he fitted my last kitchen did the work in a new bathroom and other jobs in my home over the past 13 years.
It is the cloak and dagger than makes me uneasy.
I am going back in to Howden today.
Anyone had any experience of glass as opposed to tile for the area> I would do the cooker and sink area and then just an upstand of the rest. I have a pretty small kitchen. My other idea is to use a glass mosaic with the same area being tiled
Yesterday I came across a forum after just google Howdens complaints and I was shocked to read that so many people were disatisfied with their kitchen. Main complaint was regarding doors that were bubbling and appliances etc. They were saying that the after sales was dreadful. Worries me!

I have not actually spoken to Howdens this am but have to Magnet . They quoted me not for doors but for the whole units.
Based on the fact that their doors would not fit the existing units.
I see on the invoice that Howdens doors are the same sizes.
Just had a phone call and my Joiner is coming in tomorrow am and I ama going to Magnet again to talk through my options.
