I hope I haven't put anyone off fish by starting this thread!
I just wanted to check that the worms were 'normal' and it wasn't off and a mistake on Morrisons part.
The fish itself was beautiful and I am having the left over fish pie for lunch!
Please don't let it put anyone off.

A little fact I found when I googled about chocolate...
The average chocolate bar has 1 part insect to 100 parts chocolate.
If that really is the case, then I've probably demolished several grams of insects this week alone.
If you think thats bad, you probably shouldn't look at what gets into bread or anything else made of flour!
Anyway its the future apparently. I read somewhere that when the total population of the planet gets really high and food is harder to come by we'll all be supplementing our diet on insects imported from africa. Yum!SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0 -

N9eav wrote:Now to all totally gross you out. How about people worms? We lived in Africa for a time and had maggots growing under the skin ona few occasions. This fly would lay eggs on your damp clothes and then the egg would get under your skin and a maggot would mature. You thought you had a big zit and then popped it and out would come a maggot. It was gross. Thankfully only happened a few times.
That is Gross!!!!!!!!
Far worse than worms in your fish:j WILL GET THERE SOON :j

May be this cod thing is all a scam to help preserve fish stock? I mean it makes sense.... We don't eat cod then there is no demand for it.
I hear haddock is quite nice:D
I am going angling for cod next year, I am yet to catch a big one, I will have to look out for worms.
Most people have worms you know. Appart from the gross ones I mentioned exclusive to Africa. Pin worms are very common in children.
How do people get pinworms?
Pinworms are easy to get. Pinworms are usually spread from child to child, and the eggs can be picked up on children's fingers when they are playing. Eggs can stay or your child's skin for several hours. They can survive for 2 weeks on clothes, bedding and toys. If the eggs are on your child's hands or toys, and your child puts their fingers or toys in their mouth, the tiny eggs can enter their bodies. The eggs stay in the upper part of the intestine until they hatch. After they hatch, the worms move down the length of the intestine, and then out the anus where they lay eggs.
When children scratch their itchy bottoms, the tiny eggs can get under their fingernails. As the children move around the house, the eggs may be spread, and other family members may become infected. Sometimes adults breathe in the eggs when the bed covers are shaken. However, this is very uncommon. Children easily infect each other while they are playing and by not thoroughly washing their hands before eating. Pets do not spread pinworms, although they may carry their own kinds of worms.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

I was talking to a mate of mine last night who used to be a comercial fisherman. He said all fish have worms, it's just that some of them like cod and Pollack have worms in such quantity that they they tend to get into the flesh. But there is no need to worry. Apparently they are harmless and can be eaten...I must say I have caught loads of pollack and never seen one.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works!
