It did go overdrawn but I transferred some money the same morning so am hoping I wont be charged?!

If there is a minus sign on your list of transactions at any point when you log into online banking with santander , and assuming you don't have an overdraft you'll be charged, doesn't matter if you put the money in the same day.

Its not the same with RBS and Natwest, if you pay the money in the same day, at the end of the day it sorts the credits and debits giving credit priority , but Santander use a first presented, first actioned system.

Whatever the problems with the account you have now, you can never go wrong by dumping santander

Thanks, I saw that Natwest do that and wondered if it was the same!

After reading other posts on this site I believe it was a fault with Santander not processing them so I'm going to go and see them I think! (Although my local branch doesn't open on Saturday's which annoys me!!)

Thanks for all your helpful replies! :)
    Just keep swimming
