New current account advice please!

I would like to open a new current account as I am currently with Santander and after my card payments took 10 days to show on my account (both available balance and balance) I've had enough!! It did go overdrawn but I transferred some money the same morning so am hoping I wont be charged?!
Anyway, I don't want an account that I have to pay for! And I don't want an overdraft. I pay in over £1200 a month so first direct is out of the question.
I have been looking at Natwest and Lloyds and wondered if anyone could offer me some advice on which would be best?!

I've just transferred to Natwest and impressed so far- very fast and efficient. Also, when you switch to them they give you 2% back on debit card purchases for the first 6 months (capped at £125).
Hope this helps!

Pay £1500 in one month to get the £100 switching bonus.
But they still can't display new standing orders on the website. Cost me a £25 unauthorised overdraft charge when they unexpectedly paid an order I thought I'd deleted."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
Both "First Direct" & the "Co-op Bank" always get 80% or over in all of the customer satisfaction polls. Both are well liked by their customers & with good reason. You should he happy with either.
1. With FD if you "switch" you get £100 for switching. If you start a savings account or take their credit card, you should avoid the charge I beleive.
2. With the Co-op Bank, their "Standard current account" & "Current account Plus" or "Cash Minder" account would be free to you. While the Co-op Bank has few branches, you are able to run these accounts via the Post Office counters. I find this very useful.0
