I am unfortunately under 18 :( and am going to Australia in a few weeks time with my school, i will have to take over Aus$500 and was looking for an alternative to a prepaid card, or a prepaid card but for under 18s, i dont want to take travellers cheques or all in cash is there any alternative.

Don't you have any family? They can often apply for the card on a PrePaid Mastercard account. I recommend Travelex Cash Passport Globe. Has the lowest charges of all the PrePaid cards.

Alternatively, if you have an O2 mobile, you can go for their Load & Go card. No fees other than a 2.75% forex charge.

Hint: Take the Travelex card. Get them to put a minimum of £335 on to the card. On the website you have to click on the £1000 link in order to modify the ordered amount. Make sure that you stick with GBP(Globe).
