Tiredmum - have you tried New Look's wide feet range? I buy from there, and they are cheap in money but not in make.

DGD Holly has just popped in for a cuppa to tell me about how she hopes to go on Camp America next year during her Uni break in the summer.

JackieO - do encourage her to do Camp America!! It was the BEST thing I ever did :D I learnt so much about myself, and made so many wonderful friends. Feel free to ask me any questions!

I'm in a better mood today :). I found out this morning that I have passed my year 1 of my PGCE :j:j so pleased!

Very busy (and stressful!) day at work. We took 11 work kids to the local racecourse where it was a celebration of the Prince's Charities (I work for one of them). We had a stand in the marquee with pictures etc. We got a tour of the racecourse, then got to watch the royal helicoptor land and see Prince Charles walk to the waiting car. In the afternoon Prince Charles came into the marquee, and spent time talking to all my young people. He spent a good 20 mins talking to the group (despite his staff trying to move him along!), and then shook my hand and commended me on how good the work kids were :D. It was a long day, with lots of waiting around, but the work kids were so well behaved, and didn't do anything wrong.

After that we headed back to the office and the work kids went home. One of my colleagues is 40 tomorrow and we had organised a cake and card. He was genuinely touched by the gesture.

So after all that I'm exhausted now! Think I'm going to chill on the sofa, and may even order a non OS takeaway! I do have a lady coming to pick up some boxes I put on Freecycle at 7pm.

OS wise - DW been on, WM went on last night so have put laundry away now. Need to make packed lunch for tomorrow.

    Have a good evening all

  • Oh ggggrrrrrr I just spent ages sewing the binding on a quilt, only to realise I had sewn it on the back and not the front......I have just had to undo it all........had it just been for me I would have left it, but its going in the Scottish Quilt Championships in September and I would get marked down for machine stitching the binding on the front.

:rotfl:Hi, it was my day off today, so did the food shopping at Aldi, spent £63 pounds, bit more than I wanted, so will have to pay some money into my bank account to cover it. Luckily my Mum gave me £40 cash as a treat for the boys, so should be ok. Pay day next week, so no more spending until then :(

Then mooched about the house, DH did the vacuuming and mopping and wiping the kitchen surfaces down. He says I don't do a good enough job, he he:rotfl:, so I keep out of his way.
    Did some ironing though.
Got Quorn and a Balti sauce in the SC, be ready about 8pm, for me, DS1, DS2 although DS3 is asleep on the settee, and will do him beans on toast with lots of grated cheese, as he does not like curry. DH will have pizza and chips when he is ready later, as he also does not like curry. Awkard, I know, cooking different dinners, but I really fancy curry tonight, so I am indulging myself, for a change ;)
    keep smiling,

    Evening all

Jackie0 - your family are so lucky to have you, and the children sound delightful. It's wonderful that you and them get so much quality time together, they will always treasure those memories x

Been really productive again today, am rather cream-crackered now though, but enjoying having a reasonably clean house all the time.

    well done flutterby!

Evening all! went home in my lunch break today and hung out some washing, washed last night's dishes, washed the surfaces down and popped another wash in. think i might try do this everyday as i am five mins from the office and takes pressure off me when i get home.

BIL was here when i got back, still waiting for word as to if he can stay here, but i assume we shall see him again tomorrow.

OH is watching madmax so i shall spend the evening doing surveys - i've earnt over £50 extra this month :) some i can't cash in just yet, but £20 arrived in my account today, so it's been worth the effort.

Dinner was lovely, i still need to do lunches for tomorrow - need to do something with 3 left over sausages (Thats not feed them to the dog) ...OH won't want them in a sarnie, i might have them warmed up with some beans or scrambled egg maybe.

Diet is on hold today, i just cant stop eating, so am going to indulge with some iceceam and l/o apricot tart later :)

JackieO, when I read your posts about your family you remind me so much of my darling dad, and am reminded of how glad I am that my kids got to spend invaluable time with him, and how I loved spending time with my grandparents, thank you!!!!!
Tomorrow will be last minute packing, and veg shopping for DD, and am good to go on holiday, yay!!!
Need a break, and will enjoy every minute, and back to have kitchen and bathroom fitted thanks to my inheritance, then back to being skint but worth it!!!!

Csarina - the quilt is fabulous - you are very talented!:T

JackieO - your Mikey's comment brought a tear to my eye bless him. I often wonder what my Dad would think about my 2 boys now they are grown up because he was a wonderful Grandad to them when they were little.
    Do what you love :happyhear
