Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 23/06/11 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

Looks a bit overcast here today, we had really heavy rain again yesterday, its been such a wet June so far.

Off to work today, so quick tidy round this morning, will do a wash tonight and put on the airer, dinner will be chicken chips and peas, and I have a sainsbugs delivery coming tonight.

OH and I need to sit down soon and order our new bathroom, we have been saving for a year, and are just about there :T, we are going to fit it ourselves to save costs, I am sure you will hear the arguments :D

Jackie O, my thoughts are with your dear brother, he sounds like a fighter though xx

Tiredmum :T:T well done on the new job :j

Off to get dd up, who by the way applied for a weekend job online yesterday 10 pages long , seems daft to me, but hey ho !!

Have good days all xx

    Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his pack up, breakfast eaten, fish fed & washing on the line. The washing will almost certainly get rained on but I'll sort it out tonight.
Freezer surprise for tea tonight with HG potatoes, runner beans & peas & my packup is LO cheese & HG salad.
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

    Morning Redruby and everyone else,

TIREDMUM well done on your new job
JACKIEO sorry to hear about your brother.

Had a very productive day yesterday when I got up in the house. Couldn't do tip run as it was chucking it down. Spare room now decluttered. One of my friends who is moving has offered me a wardrobe for £10 I had my eye on one on ebay which is 20 miles away so that's a result.

Today I'm off to the tip as it's dry, sunny and windy. Also have some stuff to take to the charity shop, plus the gym and seeing a friend after lunch. Tea is spaghetti bolognese, will get the sauce in the SC in a bit.

Have a good day all and hygs to those in need.

Morning all, Another wet day here in Yorkshire! Plan today is to clear up the house - and to try to sort the garage out a bit, so I can at least get through the door! The high winds we've been having has broken my wooden parasol - which is a bit of a pain - specially as it was a freebie from my neighbour. But we'll see what we can find - don't think we'll be needing shelter from the sun this summer!

Today I have to go through the freezer and make a list so I can work out a menu to use some of it up. Not sure what tea will be - but I need to use the contents up as we'll get half the contents from my mother in laws house soon. Am thinking of taking the boys to Karate on Friday - we'll see how it goes. Fingers crossed we have good weather for Saturday. x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning all!

OH is up and gone to work, so me and pup and lazing on the sofa before i need to go. Still have my tummy ache which is frustrating.

Its nearly the weekend :j Got to get myself sorted for my trip to Spalding on saturday, if i leave early enough then i will be home sooner and can't get the house work done in the afternoon.

We ended up having HM kebabs last night with garlic and chilli chicken, pittas, chips, rice and veggies. really yum. tonight we're having sausages, jacket potato and beans.

Don't know what i fancy for lunch today! not really in the mood for anything... will take a banana, apple and make a sarnie i guess!

    Have a lovely day all

    Morning everyone,

    JackieO ((hugs))
Tiredmum, well done on the new job.
    MummyEm, welcome

Usual morning here, washing on line, kids arguing upstairs, me getting packed lunches ready.

Off to work soon, it is a bit quieter at the moment but all the exams aren't over yet so there are still early morning panicked visits from my pupils, most of them just need reassurance.

I am off out tonight for a leaving do. 2 colleagues are leaving, one is 37 weeks pregnant and the other is moving to Abu Dhabi- the two are not connected!

Got some meatballs out of the freezer to defrost for everyone else so the family won't starve while I am out.

Bargainbird, DD1 says thanks for the smiley for her exam, she thought that it went well.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning everyone

bramble1 - yes, DS1's trip is to ardeche, looks brilliant and I want to go too, I'm jealous! Think you may live not so far from me, as Spalding, Lincs is only 20-30 miles from me.

Dull, overcast, windy and showery here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Dinner last night was a creamy pasta bake with a loaf of HM bread, very delish. Remembered to get the sausages out to defrost for tonight's dinner, so we will be having toad in the hole, potatoes, veg and gravy.

Today I'll be doing all the normal chores and my flylady one's too, the house is certainly looking better for the "de-clutter" . Want to get some cooking/baking done too if I get time.

Going to hairdressers first thing, my hair seems to have grown loads so will be pleased to get it cut and tidied up - especially as temperature is looking set to rise at the weekend. Need to crack on otherwise I'll be on here all day.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning my lovelies :D

Thread seems quite quiet these days.......where y'all hidin'? ;)

Anyway not much to report here really. Bacon, onion and potato hot pot for tea. Taking DD to "party shop" in town after school run. I tried to price the plates etc for her party yesterday but local party shop had closed down :( Anyway I know it's probably not MSE to be having a theme party (Tangled if your interested LOL) BUT she's having a party at home, borrowing a friends small bouncy castle, putting up the gazebo, lots of glueing and sticking to make party hats etc whereas DS had his at soft play place. I figure I can spend a bit on the extras for DD as she's not having as much money spent on her party :o

After we get back it will be housework probably. Oh joy.

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

nmlc, my DD1 is going on an activity holiday to the Ardeche with the scouts in August.
It is mainly kayaking and she is really excited about it, we have been paying for it for the last 18 months.
I am sure that your DS will have a great time!:)
