Ebay is about the cheapest to advertise on. Auction with a good starting price is about £8 plus your FVF. Classfied ad on ebay as mentioned around £13. Compare that with £44 for an autotrader ad its much cheaper.
Have you checked your local paper for the classifieds and see what they charge.
I will give Ebay I go - I'd been looking at prices with a reserve which was 10% whether you sell or not.
I'll try classified or a starting price instead. What's FVF?

FVF = final value fee, its a percentage of the final selling price you will have to pay if you sell via auction format. TBH I don't bother with a reserve price as you pay a premium for it, i start at the reserve price which works out cheaper.

Classified ads you pay no FVF as it just a classified ad.

I bemoan of idiots putting adverts up on Autotrader with 1 or 2 photos. Are they really that stupid ?

People want to see 9 photos, perhaps a video but they don't want 9 photos of the outside from 30 yards away. Get decent photos.

Put up the service history, any paperwork you have, what the tyres are like, the last service, work you have had done, advisories on the last MOT etc.

If you do all that and have a decent price then it will walk off your drive.
I will try to take plenty of decent photos, but it is a 7 year old corsa so I hope people don't expect too much for the price.

Just take loads of photos for ebay and give a good honest description and you should do fine.

All the fees are listed on Ebay you are correct if the OP is serious about listing on ebay it would be worth checking that out. On the basis of the car being less than 2k then ebay will be the cheaper option.

Ebay if sold £28, if not sold £8
Autotrader (listing over 1k) sold £44, unsold £44!!!

Autotrader is expensive, but it's the most viewed or first place looked at

Price it to sell, with good pics and details, hopefully get calls

But free places like local paper?

I only do the Web package when using Autotrader... Do people still read Autotrader Mag?........ £35 or £9.99 if under £1k

Worth Mentioning Quidco gives 25% Cashback on Autotrader....

HHMMMM how do you know though?? On ebay you can clearly see how many times your ad has been viewed, autotrader could easily do this for their online section but they don't??

Free advertising is always a good option especially for your everyday type of car as its usually local. Something like a bog standard corsa/fiesta which is cheap is likely to be bought by someone local.
