  • Not 100% sure but seem to recall that local inland revenue offices have the capability to issue tax credit cheques to those in dire straits due to hold ups with claims. Perhaps ring your local office and plead your case and the very urgent and individual status of your claim. Good luck.

    Have you looked at getting another part time job to bring you up to full time hours? Have you contacted the CSA to track down your wife so that she can pay child maintenance?

    I would think they could already working full time (min wage?), unless a reasonable paying part time job. £850 ish is min wage full time I think.

    an update for everyone, i contacted my local MP last week and i received a letter from him this weekend to say that he had wrote to HMRC regarding my problem. he also wrote to child benefit and the council about my rent and council tax rebates. i had to go and get a crisis loan on friday which will see me through until next pay day. what a bloody struggle this is !!!
