Whoever said in the last post you Cannot use windows and Lunix at the same time have you not heard of VMware

Its like parallels on the macbook which allows you to use macbook snow lep and windows o/s in a split screen enviroment

There are many distro's out of lunix that run in winodws and be installed in windows such as Ubuntu{you can install By Usb stick while windows is running}. If you want to run windows and duel boot thats a good option you can partision your hard drive and install any lunix installation you prefer to the second part of your hard drive but the best Option i beleive in is using workstation 5 or 6 for windows because if you don like any lunix you install you can delete it like a txtpad file in Vmware and run it in windows at the same time if you choose to keep it.

IN answer to this Yes very safe the trouble with lunix is most people who use dont usally use the windows type enviroment they prefer to talk in LUnix code such as the following

    usr/etc

If i wrote the whole coding out it would look confusing to you failing that when Lunix runs in GNome or x (which is the enviorment that makes it look like windows desktop)

The only differance in lunix is that its more like lego blocks, you can build the machines in code to what you want the machine to do if you do not like you can change it back,

when you have mastered the language and code and commands you find it is a very stright forward system and free also.with 10000000s of forums of help online, you will learn it very easy, you can still do the same things as a windows like movies or films with dvplayer designed for lunix,
