Hello,
I've been with O2 since Dec 2008, and I am still on their old Standard package, which is now £14.50/month.
I was wondering if it might be worth phoning them up to try and get a better deal? I'm not sure what their new packages are like, but I like what I'm on, just I'd like a better deal
Also, I'm considering their line rental as I'm currently paying £16.50/month to BT! Do you think they would do a better deal on my broadband if I took their line rental?

They'll give you a better deal anyway, but don't change your tariff, just ask for a discount on the same tariff.0 -
OK,
I gave them a phone and said I was thinking of leaving as the price had gone up recently. Also mentioned I was looking for line rental as BT are expensive!
I said I was thinking of going with either Primus or Orange for BB & line rental. The guy said to me to be careful as a lot of advertised "unlimited" services have a FUP but don't tell you what it is etc (and I'm thinking, yes, like you O2 and your new traffic managed products!).
Anyway, he said they can't do me their line rental without going onto one of their new packages (for "technical reasons", which I find a bit strange). I said I didn't want to go onto a new package, so he said he could let me stay on my current package for £9.50 / month, which I accepted. I also tried to get him to throw in 3 months free, as I'd get that by going elsewhere, but he said no (can only give me one discount at a time apparently - not sure if I believe that but agreed anyway)! He did say that if I got an O2 SIM card and contacted them then he could apply a new discount code and give me 3 months free.
So, got £5 a month off what I'm currently paying. Not sure if I could have done better, but at least I'm better off than I was! Now need to look into line rental.
Hope that helps someone!0
